What a great night - Curtin's Hayden Williams Theatre was buzzing with pride, inspiration, and celebration for the social work industry as a whole.
Hosted by James Lush from ABC's 720, the Ceremony was a light-hearted celebration of the passion, dedication, and committment shown by social workers from across WA. The stories of our deserving finalists and winners were inspirational.
The category sponsor representatives announced one winner from each of the five Award categories - congratulations to Daniel Walsh, Lara Sappal, Sarah Mitchell, Valda Duffield and Pippa Blackburn. Our Awards Patron and CEO of Lotterywest, Jan Stewart, made the anticipated announcement at the end of the night, honouring South West social worker Pippa Blackburn with the title of 2014 WA Social Worker of the Year. To all who made these Awards possible for 2014 - thank you, and to our nominees, finalists and winners - congratulations!
